The tech has died - again;
And I am cut off
from society - people and groups,
some official and arrogantly expectant,
a tenuous set of connections
made worse by acquiescence
- mindless, throwing privacy,
and thus security,
to the digital wind,
for lazy unthinking ease of convenience,
cursed by those who cannot
- nay, will not,
write an email.
But my own reliability
is going
- fading fast, much gone
and all that is left
is agonising pain
of the expectations
of the cheerfully demanding
- expecting me
to provide and provide
and provide,
and provide,
and provide.
And those I rely on
have been driven away
- some live far away,
others driven off
by my family's circumstances
and crises
and needs
and conditions
- much as I cannot go or do
without thought, and planning,
and checking,
and seeking approval first.
I am alone
- isolated,
imprisoned by the illnesses
- real, life threatening,
of those who choose to rely on me ...
This world is one of hate and spite
and attacks on differences of degree
rather than
holding those who have power
to account,
and building on
inclusion and collaboration,
and it is killing us all.
