bereft ...
- I am bereft
The slaughter
of young
- not innocent
but ... naive
- potential
mayhap warped
but not yet locked
Reminds me
of all I have lost
and had stolen
most vilely
viciously
and violently
from me - and mine
Bereft ...
bereft ...
- I am bereft
And doubly so
- nay trebly even more
The loss was done
by one of us
One who was lost
had lost
mayhap been abused
where they sought
a vile redress
and only did worse
and spread yet worse
to all here now
and all to come.

- I am bereft
There are no winners here
- save those who sell
pain and hate, misery and death.
