Am I functioning, they ask
Yes, I reply;
Is that not a good thing, they ask
No, I reply.
How so, they ask
Because, I reply
I am still in pain,
Those who gave me the pain
are still in their pain,
And society, above all else,
the totality of all of us,
is in pain
because of our pains.
