[Content Warning] A slow drowning

In war
a soldier may die
- unable to move,
injured,
slipping down
into the mud
- an inexorable
unimaginable
drowning.

In peace
a commuter may die
unable to leave,
trapped,
slipping deeper
into debt
and misery
- an inexorable
imaginable
metaphorical
drowning.
