Absorption

Living on the edge
Am I really as good
As I think I am?
If not
I lose – and so do those
Who rely on
Or are near
Me.
Do I wish to gamble
My and others wellbeing
On the strength of my arrogance, ego, and pride?

If I do,
Can my love be strong enough?
Can I resist the call of old ways?
Can I have
The terrifying cold fire
Of the Goddess’ absolute
Expectation of loving compassion
With no excuses, deceptions, or lies?

Poems from my colours and chakras exercise: Earth Star chakra

These poems were written as part of my “colours and chakras” exercise on my main (Paganism and spirituality) blog, for the Earth Star  chakra: 

Pink 

Love
- one colour of love
in this world
this rich, beautiful world …
What could be
more natural
than to love
this world of Nature?

Blue 

Under clearest blue sky
deepest green forests
rest, yet
surge in growth
and savour this pleasing day

Green 

In the season of growth,
green unfurls
as Life itself rises
from Mother Earth
and bursts forth
- honouring Life's potential.
In other seasons,
the potential is honoured
by protection and nurturement. 

Gold 

Gold is richness,
In life, richness is more life;
The gold of Sol's emanations,
helping crops and Life to grow.

Orange 

Life in harshness
may seem hard,
but oft it hides
strengths and unseen riches,
beauty and blessings,
wisdom and insights.

(Note: this is referring to physically harsh conditions, such as deserts and arid areas)

Purple 

Mother Earth
- Gaia
knows
the true royalty
is service to Life

Silver 

The Light of the Night
silvery, cool and fresh
specks in the dark
or a wide gentle glow
gives the Night
a comfortable warmth. 

Amber 

Suns shine
on many levels
- some within;
all gentle, heal, and nurture
growth,
and manifest
potential.

Brilliance 

Sparks of  light
glisten on the snow
reflecting the
sparks of invigoration.

Distraction

Focus follows
Heart and Mind
And
When Heart and Mind
Are unbalanced
Focus is misjudged;
Redirect that focus
Is a step towards
Rebalancing
Heart and Mind.

‘tis said
love conquers all

tho’
tis easier said
than done.

PS - this refers to emotions and energetic matters: mundane (physical world - everyday life, in other words) matters also do have genuine requirements around security, food, housing, clothing, etc
