East of Melbourne are the Dandenong Ranges; in those is our Sherbrooke Forest. It's a bit of an old stamping ground of mine - back in the 80s I used to go there almost every weekend, and today a dear friend and I went there for a wonderful, warm autumn afternoon. Photos from our sojourn - which I was in much need of - below.
The wallaby, by the way, didn't seem to be disturbed by our presence: she/he had a look while we took a photo, and then resumed munching on fern leaves, and kept doing so as we strolled off.
In that area, by the way, we're in the Indigenous season of Iuk - eel season, but doubt any would be in the tiny creek we saw today, particularly after the dry season has extended out for so long.
